Much more that a Company with organized Tours

“The Other Side” is much more than a Company with organized Tours. It is also a social project: through the visits and tours that we propose, we foster partnerships with small businesses and local entities. From the bakery that sells the best and most authentic “pastel de nata” of Oporto to the small restaurant that receives us during the Tours, our mission is to stimulate and to increase the social and economic improvement of our country but also to promote and to support the sites that truly represent our authenticity. The choice of the local partners who, like us, bring out the real Portugal is very important and is as well one of our greatest challenges!
 

Why should you choose our guides?

Our guides are fluent in the required languages. They have a wide and an acquisitive internal training in our company in terms of cultural, historical and architectural heritage. All our guides are internal resources (we do not subcontract services), which allows us to guarantee the excellence and the quality of the service that we provide. The guides will make sure to communicate all their technical knowledge in each of the Tours and, above all, to share with all the emotion the meaning that each of the sites gives them, as inhabitants of this Country.
 

Languages spoken in our Tours:

In all our Daily Tours we speak fluently Portuguese, English, Spanish and French. We try to never exceed more than 2 languages per group in order to assure a Tour with quality. We also have guides fluent in other languages as German or Italian for private Tours/Services. Contact us!

"The Other Side" is a company with organized Tours in Porto and Lisbon, who’s the aim is to show to everyone who visit Portugal the best of our country.

More and more people travel with less time, but they are more willingly to know all the corners of a city or any destination absorbing the most traditional and authentic that the sites can offer to them. For this reason, "The Other Side" propose a set of Tours with different themes, with the aim of presenting the most authentic side of Porto and Lisbon but also the regions surrounding these magnificent cities, the most genuine and authentic side of our culture, as the traditions and customs, the heritage and the people who live in this unique country.

We propose half-day Tours through Porto and Lisbon and the most representatives’ sites of these cities, and also full-day Tours to the Douro Valley, Braga, Guimarães, Sintra or Óbidos! In a very relaxed atmosphere, as you were with a group of friends, our Tours are a new experience with a real contact along the best of Portugal and of course always with a view from a local.

    We met the Douro Valley with the kind and caring Cátia. We made the trip to Pinhão, with a visit to two excellent wineries. It is highly recommended to include the one hour river boat ride, which is optional. The view is breathtaking.
